Alice Dyson

Alice Dyson.

Alice is a 17-year-old cricketer, from Glossop and a student at Loreto Sixth Form College, who plays for Derbyshire Women and the England women's Cricket Development Squad. The fast bowler aims to play in the Women's Super League competition in the near future and help Derbyshire cement their place in a higher division following promotion.

Alica says: "My main cricket skill is a quick bowler, which requires a lot of strength and power, so I therefore spend the off season doing lots of training to help maximise my bowling during the season. I do this in a range of sessions including endurance, speed, strength and robustness as well as mobility work.

"I go to National Cricket Performance Centre at Loughborough University at least once a month for three-day camps with the England Women's Academy, which involves skills and fitness training as well as personal welfare, psychology and nutrition. Furthermore, I go to Derby most weekends to train with the Derbyshire women or emerging girls.

"My goals for this coming year are to be a key all-rounder as an attacking bowler and middle order batter for the Derbyshire women in their new divisions and to do well in the England pathway and hopefully take my opportunity in the camps and games in the summer and to keep enjoying what I do.

"My sporting ambitions for the future are to be involved in the Women's Kia Super League as it would be a fantastic opportunity to play with and against the leading women in cricket from across the world.

"I also want to continue to play for Derbyshire women and gain promotion into Division One. My ultimate goal is to play as an opening bowler for the England women and to win the Ashes and World Cup."
