Cycling volunteer training workshops to support use of adapted bikes
Cycling volunteer training workshops are being held in Chesterfield, Derby and Parsley Hay to help support people to use adapted bikes.
There are six inclusive cycling hubs within Derbyshire, all with a range of adaptive bikes that are designed to allow anyone who may have additional balance and/or coordination needs ride independently or with someone else.
The 'Let's Go Ride a Bike' project is supporting the delivery of volunteer workshops around the county to help increase the number of people who can help at these hub sites so that more people can use adaptive bikes in the county.
The workshops are aimed at anyone who supports or would like to support disabled people to use adapted bikes.
Attendees will learn how to make sure each bike is safe to ride, how to ensure everyone who takes part is correctly fitted to each bike, and how to ensure everyone has a positive riding experience being in control.
The dates of the workshops are: Chesterfield - Monday, April 10; Derby - Thursday, May 4; Parsley Hay - Tuesday, May 9.
The workshops are free to attend but places must be booked in advance.
