Elizabeth is an 18-year-old shooter from Buxton who competes in the 10 metre air rifle category for the 17th Buxton SAC. The Great Britain junior squad member beat several of her team-mates in winning a bronze medal at the British Air Rifle Championships.
Elizabeth says: "I train with a coach two to three times a week on average and I train without my coach on the weekends as well.
"I attend the gym two to three times a week, helping to improve my core strength and cardiovascular skill, which both benefit my shooting.
"In addition to this, the Great Britain Talent Squad holds one training weekend each month, which is a valuable opportunity to discuss current training and goals with other coaches, and to access a different range for more time to train.
"The air rifle season has just started, and as part of this I am aiming to improve my scores by February for the British Open Championships and Intershoot, which is held in the Netherlands.
"I would like to be considered as a member of the England Squad for the 2018 Commonwealth Games, and will need to put in more hard work and dedication in order to make this possible.
Thanks to the ICON bursary, I have been able to buy better shooting equipment, which will help to improve my scores and become more competitive in this season."
