The 15-year-old badminton player, from Whitwell and a student at Heritage High School, Clowne, competes for the Derbyshire PC and Venturers BC Club, has won the National Under-15s Girls Doubles Championships (under-15s) and is part of the England Performance Training Scheme.
Ellie says: "This is my first season in the Under -17s, so I am expecting it to be tough! However, my first Badminton England Gold tournament in Milton Keynes at the beginning of October at this level was quite successful. I got to the girls doubles semi-final, winning a bronze medal.
"I have also played in the Senior Derbyshire Restricted tournament and won the ladies singles. This got me selected to play for the Senior Derbyshire first team, which I am pleased and very proud of.
"I currently attend two coaching/training sessions a week. On Wednesdays, I go to the gym at Derby University where I have an hour of strength and conditioning with one of the Derbyshire Institute of Sport (DIS) trainers, followed by two hours coaching by Anthony Clark, ex-England player.
"Anthony is currently covering for Donna Kellogg, also ex England, who is on maternity leave. On Thursday s I train and am coached by James Boxall, who is head coach for Derbyshire and also an England junior team manager.
"I try to run, usually with my dad, as often as I can which is at least twice a week to also boost my fitness.
"My goals are to be successful at the remaining Gold tournaments I will enter this season and hope the England selectors will monitor my success."
