Finn Reilly McQueen.
The 15-year-old canoeist from Sawley is a student at Friesland School and a member of the Holme Pierrepoint Canoe Club. He was selected to represent Great Britain in junior European Championships in doubles (C2 ) with Ben Haylett, with whom he won the National Junior Championship in C2 for 2016.
Finn says: "I train at Holme Pierrepont five times a week, in addition to two gym sessions. I also train regularly in London, on the 2012 Olympic course. I recently made it into the Premier Division in my individual class, which consists of the top 100 paddlers in Great Britain, securing the ranking of 80th for the 2017 season.
"I also compete in doubles (C2) in which me and my partner, Ben Haylett, represented Great Britain in the European Championships in Slovenia. We finished in 11th place. We are also British junior Champions for our age. I am on the Super Regional squad for the Midlands region.
"Next season, I hope to move into the top 50 paddlers in the Premier Division, get onto the English National Talent Programme and get re-selected for the junior Great Britain team for doubles in 2017.
"In terms of long term sporting ambitions, I would ultimately like to compete for Great Britain in the senior World Cup events and World Championships. My dream is to win medals for my country.
The money from the ICON bursary will allow me to get new kit and help to fund a new boat. This will help me to achieve my goals for 2017 and help me to improve my paddling in general. Also, the gym pass will help me to progress in training off the water which will help me to improve my paddling on the water."
