Jaime-Leigh is a 15-year-old judo player from Glossop who attends St Philip Howard Catholic Voluntary Academy and the Glossop Judo Club. She has competed internationally as part of the Great Britain junior squad in Spain, Croatia, the Czech Republic and Portugal and won a silver medal at the Cadet U18 British Championships and a bronze at the Junior U21 British Championships.
Jaime-Leigh says: "I train once a week at Glossop Judo Club and also at different clubs in Manchester on Saturdays and Sundays.
"I also train with the North West, England and Great Britain squads on a regular basis at the Centre of Excellence in Walsall, which I earned through my performances at the British Championships. I have also trained in Germany, Romania and the Czech Republic.
"Last year I competed in Romania and Portugal in European Cups, winning silver at both, and then also appeared at the European Championships where I finished fifth. Unfortunately, despite qualifying for the World Championships on the back of this, I could not compete because of injury.
"This year, I won a gold medal at the Spain European Cup followed by fifth places in Croaita and Germany, giving me a European ranking of third and world ranking of fifth."
