Jessica Hancock.

14-year-old lifesaver Jessica, from John Flamsteed School, won four gold medals in her age group at the RLSS Nationals Speeds Competition at the Olympic Pool in London. She is the current holder of four National Records in her age group in the 100m Obstacle/100m Carry/100m Tow and 100m Rescue Medley.

Jessica says: "Attending the World Lifesaving Championships in the Netherlands this September was an amazing experience. I made it into two finals and placed highly in most of my best events competing alongside some of my lifesaving idols.

"This success completed a strong lifesaving year for me, as I achieved 12 national titles and seven national records in 2016, and was selected for the UK Performance Squad for the third year running.

"I am excited to be returning to Holland in November to compete at the Orange Cup with the RLSS UK team and then hard training will begin for RLSS and SLSGB Speeds next spring. In 2017, I will move up an age group which will be a challenge that I am looking forward to as I will compete in tougher events against strong competition.

"My long term goal is to qualify for and compete with the Great Britain squad at the 2017 European Championships in Belgium and the World Championships in Australia 2018."
