Scott is a 15-year-old judo player from Glossop who attends Glossopdale Community College and trains with Glossop Judo Club. He has earned a place on the England squad and is to start an AASE (advanced apprenticeship in sporting excellence) programme after his GCSEs, alongside competing.
Scott says: "This year I will be taking my GCSEs and so some local training will be reduced, though I will be attending all regional and national sessions. I plan to do the Advanced apprenticeship in sporting excellence at the national centre of excellence in Walsall post 16.
"Over 2017, I plan to attend three day training camps in Newcastle, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Kendal, St Helens and Belgium. I am also planning to compete in all six major ranking events as well as competing at Internationals in Edinburgh, Ireland, London, Kent, Southend, Holland and Belgium.
"This year I also intend to gain my Black Belt before my 16th birthday so I will be attending all qualifying competitions, competing in adult categories to attain the points needed.
"My priority is to gain selection for the National Cadet squad in 2017 and so my main focus is on the British Championships in December 2016.
I am working towards medals in all competitions to attain as many ranking points as possible. This will carry me through with the highest level training up until I'm 19, when I hope to become a full time Judo Athlete representing Great Britain."
